My $40 grocery haul fed us 5 days after I tried that freezer-first method
I was tossing rotten produce every weekend in Portland until I started freezing meat and bread the same day I bought them, now everything stretches way longer. Has anyone else found that freezing stuff before you think you need to actually cuts your grocery bill way down?
My mom did the opposite and it backfired, she froze like 8 loaves of bread from Costco and we ate kinda sad sandwiches for a month. The meat thing makes sense though, I started doing that with chicken thighs and they never go bad on me now. Been meaning to try it with the bread too but I always forget until it's already stale.
