Just did the math on my beans and rice habit, saved $127 in one month
I started keeping a food diary last month after I realized I was spending way too much on takeout. Turns out, making big batches of black beans and rice from scratch costs me about $3.50 for five servings. I usually eat that for lunch at work instead of buying a $10 sandwich or bowl. I added it up and I saved $127 just by swapping lunch five days a week for four weeks. Has anyone else done a hard number check on a single swap and been shocked at the savings?

Yo just freeze portions in ziplocs to keep it from getting boring.

Freeze portions" helps but ziplocs aren't great for long term, try vacuum bags instead.
