Frozen veggies saved my grocery budget this month

I was spending way too much on fresh produce that would go bad in 3 days. Last week I bought a big bag of frozen mixed veggies for $2.50 at Aldi. I used it in stir fry, soups, and even threw some in my rice cooker with chicken broth. The texture was fine after cooking and I didn't have to toss anything out. My total meal cost dropped to about $1.20 per serving for dinner. Has anyone found a frozen veggie brand that doesn't get mushy in casseroles?

That $1.20 per serving number is exactly what I found when I switched - it's crazy how much you save. I grab the Great Value brand from Walmart and they hold up fine in a casserole as long as I don't overbake it.

Honestly I gotta disagree with the Walmart thing. The Great Value stuff has that weird watery texture no matter how short you bake it. Tried them once and ended up with mushy shells that fell apart in the pan. Ngl the $1.20 per serving argument only works if you ignore how much more cheese and sauce you need to hide the taste difference. Tbh the name brand stuff is worth the extra 50 cents just for the texture alone.
