Found a $3 bag of lentils that made 6 meals
I was at a small grocery store in Portland last week and grabbed a 2-pound bag of red lentils for just $3.49. Cooked them up with some onions and garlic I had lying around, and I swear that one bag stretched into dinner for almost a whole week. Anyone else found a crazy cheap ingredient that goes further than you'd expect?

Did you just discover that beans and rice are cheaper than eating out? I tried that same trick with a bag of dried chickpeas once, ended up making hummus, curry, and some weird crunchy snack I threw in a salad. Sounds like you unlocked the secret to eating like a broke college student who actually knows how to cook.

Two dollars for a whole bag of dried chickpeas and this person is acting like they cured world hunger. It's just beans and cheap spices, not some life changing revelation. Relax, nobody's handing you a Michelin star for making hummus in your dorm.
