Used to buy coffee out every morning, now I make cold brew in a $6 pitcher and I'm mad I waited so long
I was spending $4.75 at the place near my office in Baltimore every single morning, which comes out to about $95 a month just to stand in a line. Six months ago my card got declined right at the register and I finally did the math on what that habit was costing me. Now I dump a bag of beans in a $6 plastic pitcher, add water, and let it sit in my fridge overnight, and the whole thing costs me maybe 60 cents a cup. The first batch tasted like swamp water because I used the wrong grind, but after I asked the guy at the roaster to grind it coarse it's been fine. I'm not gonna pretend it beats a fresh pour over, but at 5am before work it does the job. Anyone figured out a cheap way to keep the grounds out of the last inch of the cup without buying fancy filters?
