That cashier at Aldi taught me a lesson about bulk buying
I was at Aldi last Tuesday loading up on those big bags of rice. Thought I was being smart saving money. The cashier, older lady named Carol, just shook her head at my cart. She said I was paying for food I'd throw out. Told me she sees it all the time - people buying bulk then trashing half. Said the real hack is buying just what you'll use in a week. Even showed me the unit price on a smaller bag was cheaper per serving. Made me realize I was wasting like $12 a month on expired stuff. Anyone else ever have a grocery worker call out your bad habits?

She's not wrong that people waste food buying bulk, but the unit price being cheaper on a smaller bag is usually just an Aldi thing with their rotating stock. Most big stores price bulk cheaper per ounce, but you have to actually eat it before it goes bad.
$12 a month on expired stuff isn't a fortune though, that's basically one takeout meal.
