Overheard a guy at the hardware store talking about washing Ziploc bags

I was picking up a new trash can lid and this older gentleman told his grandson he's been reusing Ziploc bags for 40 years by just rinsing them and hanging them on a clothespin to dry. Figured I'd give it a shot with my last batch of sandwich bags and I've saved about $12 in two weeks. Has anyone else tried this or do you think it's too much effort?

That "too much effort" line sums up how we treat most stuff nowadays til it piles up somewhere.

Eh, I gotta be honest, I tried it once and it kinda grossed me out. Maybe I'm just lazy but I feel like by the time you scrub the peanut butter out and dry it right, you're almost better off just buying new ones. Your mileage may vary though.
