I was dead wrong about buying generic batteries

Ngl I always thought store brand AA batteries were junk and only bought Duracell. But after my TV remote died 3 times in 6 months with Duracells I tried a 20 pack of CVS brand for $6 and they've been going strong for almost a year now. Anyone else find a generic product that actually outperforms the name brand?

You said "dead wrong," so have you tested any other generic batteries in high drain devices yet?

Yeah that "high drain devices" thing is a good point. It's kinda wild how we assume expensive = better for everything when some cheap stuff actually works better in certain situations. I feel like I see this with a lot of random household stuff too, like trash bags or dish soap where the name brand just isn't worth it.

Oh man yeah that's totally it. My buddy was raving about these premium drain cleaner tablets and I just laughed and said the cheap ones eat through hair faster anyway. He got all defensive so I brought over a box of the generic brand and a name brand one. We had a clogged shower drain. I timed both. The cheap stuff cleared it three minutes faster. He still uses the expensive ones though out of habit I think. Brand loyalty runs deep for some people.
