Found a stat about dryer sheets that changed my mind
I always used dryer sheets because they smell good and make clothes soft, but then I saw a post from a repair shop saying they cause a buildup that can break your dryer's moisture sensor in under 2 years. Turns out the wax coating blocks the sensor from reading correctly, and replacing that part costs around $80. Has anyone else stopped using them after hearing this or found a cheap alternative that works?

Have you tried wool dryer balls? Work great and no gross buildup.

The part about "no gross buildup" is what really gets me. I have had my wool balls for almost three years now and I literally just shake the lint off them every few months and they're fine. My old fabric softener left this weird waxy coating on my towels that made them less absorbent over time. Switching to wool balls was honestly one of those little changes that made a bigger difference than I expected.
