Took me 6 hours to fix a simple wall tie issue - should have been 30 mins

Had a job out in Oakville last Tuesday where I was setting up a new garden wall. Noticed the wall ties weren't lining up right with the bricks I was using. Thought it was no big deal, just a quick adjustment. Nope. Spent the whole afternoon cutting and replacing ties because the supplier gave me the wrong gauge. By the time I got the right ones from the yard it was 4pm. Anyone else run into supply mixups that eat your whole day?

Yeah but did you check the gauge before you started cutting?

Wait, are you saying you didn't check the gauge before you started? I get being in a hurry, but that feels like a basic step you gotta do before cutting anything. I think it's less about the supplier messing up and more about double checking what's in your hands. We've all got stories of bad orders, but spending 6 hours because you didn't catch it early is on you a little bit. Ever had a job go sideways because you skipped the quick check first?
