The $60 mixing attachment that saved my back on a big job last Saturday

I was doing a retaining wall in Auburn and mixing mortar by hand like always. By the third batch my shoulder was screaming. I grabbed a paddle mixer attachment for my drill for 60 bucks at the supply house. It mixed a batch in like 2 minutes with zero effort from me. Has anyone else used one of these or do you still stick to the shovel and wheelbarrow?

My dad tried one last summer and it stripped the gears on his old Milwaukee drill by the fifth batch... He ended up getting a dedicated mortar mixer after that.

Did your dad ever try one of those little paddle mixers that go on a heavy duty corded drill? I mean, even those can die fast. I watched a buddy burn through a DeWalt in like an hour mixing thin set.
