My old boss said never trust a wet saw to cut firebrick straight, and he was dead wrong
Back in 2019 I was doing a fireplace rebuild in Akron and he swore the blade would wander on every cut, so I spent two days scoring and snapping by hand like an idiot. Got fed up, broke out the $180 wet saw anyway, and every one of the 40 firebrick cuts came out dead square. Anybody else had a foreman hand them a rule that turned out to be pure superstition?
