I finally hit 10,000 bricks laid in a single week and now I'm wondering if that's actually good

My foreman said I set a personal record but a buddy on another crew claims 12,000 is his baseline, so who's really right about what counts as a solid pace for production work?

Used to think 10,000 was the magic number everyone measured against, but hearing about your buddy's 12,000 baseline really made me reconsider. Watching how your foreman celebrated your record shows there's a big difference between what feels fast on your own crew versus what's actually standard elsewhere. Took me a while to realize that comparing numbers between job sites is almost always apples to oranges because materials and conditions change everything. Your 10,000 is solid production work, especially if you're laying them clean and straight.

@kevinc84 you're way overthinking this. 10k is 10k on a good day, nobody's handing out trophies for who can stack a few extra hundred. Just lay em right and move on to the next row.
