Hot take: I called bull on that wet brick trick for 8 months, now I'm not so sure
A guy on a job in Tulsa showed me he dunks his trowel in a bucket of water before buttering, and I laughed it off as messing around. Then last month I tried it on a 90 degree day and my mortar stopped sucking the water out of the brick so fast, joints actually slid better. Is this real or did I just get lucky with that batch, because I want to hear from guys who tried it and hated it.
