Hit 50,000 bricks laid yesterday and it hit me weird
I was just finishing up a wall for a new house out in Elmhurst and decided to keep count like I always do. After lunch I looked at my tally and it was right at 50,000 exactly. That number just seemed huge to me, I started doing this trade back in 2011 and never thought I'd hit a number like that. Has anyone else kept track of their totals over the years? What's your best guess for how many bricks you've laid?

Must be nice to count that high without needing a calculator.

Did you see that article about how some people actually use their fingers to count past ten? I swear I read something about different methods people use for big numbers.

Wait, is that true that people actually use their fingers to count past ten? I've only ever done the basic one through ten thing, you know, like in elementary school where you count on your fingers and then start over. I remember reading once about a system called chisanbop or something where you can count up to 99 on your hands by using different finger positions and pressing them down in certain ways. It sounds kind of cool but also like it would take a ton of practice to get fast at it. I feel bad for anyone who grew up trying to learn that method and then had to explain it to their friends or teachers who thought they were just making up numbers.
