Had a run of crisp 90 degree corners one Tuesday morning that made me feel like a wizard
The weather was perfect at 68 degrees and my mix was holding up just right, but something clicked in my rhythm around row 8 and every trowel strike landed exactly where I wanted it - has anyone else had a day where the whole wall just seemed to lay itself?

Was it the mud or just perfect timing that got you into that flow state?

The whole flow state thing is tricky for me. Once I was repotting a huge monstera that had taken over my kitchen, and it was so tangled up in its own roots I nearly gave up. But then I started just listening to an old audiobook I've heard a hundred times, and before I knew it four hours had gone by and the plant looked like a new creature. Sometimes I wonder if it's less about the mud or the timing and more about letting your hands do the thinking while your brain takes a back seat. Do you find certain sounds or music help you get into that zone?

Ever tried working in complete silence? I find that background noise actually breaks my focus more than it helps. The audiobook trick makes sense though. Your brain follows the familiar story while your hands do the real work. For me it's the opposite. I need some kind of white noise or rain sounds. Nothing with words or a beat I can follow. Just a steady hum that keeps my mind from wandering off completely.
