Dude, that wet saw cooling trick actually saved my day on a retaining wall

I was fighting a big retaining wall job in Denver last Tuesday, and my mortar was drying out way too fast in the sun. Someone told me to keep a wet sponge on the saw blade to cool it down and keep the dust down, but I figured it would just make a mess. Tried it anyway, and the cuts were cleaner, the blade didn't bind up, and my joints stayed workable for an extra 5 minutes. Has anyone else messed with adding extra water to their saw setup, or is this gonna wreck my blade long term?

Nah man, that extra water is just asking for rust problems.

Nah, most diamond blades actually need a steady water stream to run properly without overheating.
