TIL my 500th roast was the exact moment my scale gave up

So last Saturday I hit my 500th home roast, which I only know because I keep a little tally in my phone notes app with silly names for each batch. I was weighing out beans for batch 500 and my cheap Amazon scale just stopped reading anything under 50 grams, like it knew it had done its job and retired on the spot. I laughed for a solid minute because I've been meaning to upgrade that thing for over a year, and it died right as I hit a round number. Now I'm using a measuring cup until my new scale arrives Thursday, which feels like roasting blindfolded. Anyone else have gear fail on a milestone day, or am I the only one whose equipment has dramatic timing?
