The roastery in Asheville still posts its roast dates on a chalkboard by the door
Stopped by a small roastery off Haywood Road in Asheville last month and noticed they write every roast date on a chalkboard by the door, like a bakery listing what came out of the oven that morning. It made me think back to when I started roasting in 2013 and I was scribbling dates on masking tape stuck to mason jars, and honestly my memory of what tasted good was worse than that chalkboard. The owner said people ask for the board more than the bags, which makes sense because freshness is half the battle with home roasting. Do you all track your roast dates somewhere visible, or is it all buried in a notebook like mine?
