The day my scale betrayed me, 14 grams became 22

I used to just eyeball my coffee dose, honestly thought I was close enough. Then last month I finally bought a cheap digital scale from a kitchen store in Tulsa, just to see. First morning with it, my usual scoop weighed out to 22 grams instead of the 14 I had been bragging about. I had been brewing rocket fuel for who knows how long, no wonder my wife kept adding hot water. Anyone else have a similar wake-up call when they started measuring instead of guessing?

Brewing at 22 grams is just strong coffee, not exactly rocket fuel, lol.
