Pro tip: Weigh your beans before grinding, not after
I spent 2 years chasing the perfect cup and kept getting inconsistent results. Last Tuesday I realized I was weighing the grounds after grinding, and the static in my grinder was holding back maybe 2 grams every time. That messed up my ratio for every batch. So I switched to weighing the whole beans first, then grinding straight into the basket. Now my brew time is dead on 3:30 every single morning at 6am. The difference was night and day, especially with my Ethiopian light roast. Anyone else run into this static issue or am I the only slow learner? Has anyone tried grinding into a metal cup instead of plastic to cut static?

Did you check if your grinder's retention changes with humidity or bean weight, since lighter Ethiopian beans might cling more than dense ones? A metal dosing cup helps a ton for static, but I also tap the grinder a few times before opening it to knock loose the stragglers.
