Just realized my $9 popcorn air popper does a better job roasting than my drum did
Bought a cheap air popper at a thrift store in Boise for $9 mostly as a joke, since my drum roaster was giving me uneven batches and I was getting frustrated. Tried 80 grams of a Guatemala bean in it and the roast was done in about 6 minutes flat, way faster than my drum ever managed. The cracks were loud and clear and the cup had none of that baked flavor I kept getting before. Only issue is it goes so fast I have to stand right there the whole time. Anyone else roasting on air poppers, and how are you handling the chaff flying everywhere?
