Just found out my tap water pH is 8.2 after testing it for the first time

I bought a cheap pH meter off Amazon last week and tested my tap water before brewing and turns out 8.2 is way too alkaline for a good extraction, has anyone else had to mess with water chemistry just to get a decent cup at home?

My buddy Jason tested his tap water once and it came back at 8.4. He spent like three months adding little bits of vinegar to his kettle before every brew and honestly never noticed a difference in taste.
