Guys if you just got that new air roaster from the group buy, check the bean drum gap
I ran my first batch this morning and the beans were way underdeveloped even though my temps were perfect. Turns out the drum was sitting too close to the heating element and blocking airflow. Did anyone else's unit come with the gap set wrong?

Oh wow, I actually had the opposite experience with mine! The gap was totally fine out of the box, my first batch came out way too dark before I dialed the heat down. Maybe yours was just a defect? I'd reach out to the group buy organizer, they've been pretty good about replacements.

Exactly what @karen410 said about the gap is interesting. I think this whole thing with manufacturing tolerances is a bigger issue everywhere now not just with this grinder. Like I bought a new phone case last month and the cutouts were slightly off. My buddy got the same case and his was perfect. It feels like companies are pushing stuff out faster and the quality checks are slipping. The group buy organizers are usually good about fixing stuff though since they care about their reputation. Its just frustrating that you have to go through the hassle of getting a replacement when you pay good money for something.
