Can we talk about the 3 weeks I spent chasing a draft that turned out to be my own dryer vent
Last January I was sure cold air was coming through the old windows in my 1920s place in Worcester, so I spent $60 on caulk and foam and plastic sheeting and still felt it on my neck at night. Turned out the culprit was the dryer vent flap on the outside wall that had rusted open about an inch, letting the wind straight in, and it took me 3 weekends and one very annoyed neighbor to figure that out. Has anyone else chased the wrong fix for way too long before finding the actual gap?
