Tried growing tomatoes in fabric pots versus plastic ones this summer in Seattle and the fabric pots won by a mile
My plastic pot plants got rootbound and wilted by July while the fabric ones kept growing like crazy even through that heatwave we had, so what's the deal with everyone still using plastic?

Lived in Seattle for 10 years and went the opposite way. Fabric pots dry out way too fast for our climate, especially when it stays dry for weeks. I had to water my fabric pots twice a day during that July heatwave while plastic ones held moisture way better. Not saying plastic is perfect, but fabric isn't an automatic win here.

Oh man, @adam_robinson you are speaking my language. I switched to plastic pots last year after a similar situation. My tomato plants in fabric pots looked like they were gasping for water every afternoon. I had this one basil plant that just gave up and turned crispy. The plastic ones I kept from an old nursery purchase? That basil is still going strong. Sometimes the old ways work better for certain situations.
