Read a study that said some orchids can take 15 years to bloom from seed

Honestly, I found this in a university paper about slow growing plants. It makes me appreciate the ones at the store way more now. Has anyone else grown an orchid from seed and actually seen it flower?

Actually saw that study too, but the 15 years is for the really slow ones in the wild. Most home growers using sterile flasks can get some types to bloom in 3-5 years. Still a crazy long time to wait for a flower.

Shows how we've lost all patience for natural processes.
