Question about how long some seeds can last

Honestly, I was just reading an old gardening book from the library and found out some lotus seeds can still grow after 1,300 years. They found some in a dried-up lake bed in China. Tbh, I thought most seeds only lasted a few years at best. It's wild to think a plant can wait that long for the right conditions. Has anyone else come across a plant with seeds that last an incredibly long time?

Yeah, the "few years at best" thing was my exact thought too. This totally changes what I thought was possible.

That "few years at best" line really hit home for me, too.

Read an article that said the timeline is way shorter than people think.
