Killed my peace lily by giving it tap water for 2 years straight
I used to think I was a terrible plant parent because my peace lily always had brown tips no matter what I did. Last month I was watering it at the sink and my roommate walked by and said 'you know the chlorine in tap water burns houseplants right?' I had NO idea. I had been filling up my watering can from the kitchen faucet every single day for 2 years. Now I let my water sit out in a jug for 24 hours before using it to let the chlorine evaporate. After just 3 weeks the new leaves are completely green and healthy. Has anyone else dealt with this or do you guys all use filtered water from the start?

Used to do the exact same thing with my peace lily and wondered why it looked sad all the time lol. Letting water sit out for 24 hours made a huge difference for me too. I also started bottom watering mine once a week instead of pouring from the top and that helped even more with the brown tips. The tap water thing is such a common mistake though, most people have no clue until someone tells them.

Honestly @riley_price the bottom watering tip is genius, my peace lily finally stopped throwing tantrums.
