Everyone says to water your fiddle leaf fig once a week, but mine started thriving when I stopped.

I ignored the schedule and only watered it when the top two inches of soil in my Seattle apartment were bone dry, which ended up being every 15-18 days. Has anyone else found that strict watering rules do more harm than good for certain plants?

Nah, a weekly schedule is a lifesaver for beginners who would otherwise forget completely! Your dry apartment is the exception, not the rule.
