Counted 212 species in my 6-by-8 foot balcony garden in Portland, and now I can't stop cataloging
I got bored one rainy Sunday and decided to write down every plant on my tiny apartment balcony in Portland, thinking it would be maybe 40 or 50. When the list hit 212 species, including 19 different kinds of moss I'd never even noticed growing between the pavers, I just sat there staring at my notebook. Is anyone else here keeping a species count for a small space, and if so what number made you realize your collection had gotten a little out of hand?
