PVA is the cheap way out and people know it. It's fine for craft projects and school glue, but slapping it on everything like it's a miracle fix is just lazy. Once it cures you're stuck with it, no real way to undo it without wrecking the surface underneath. And it doesn't hold up in moisture or heat, so you're basically building a time bomb for your project. I've seen people use it on wood joints that needed real epoxy or mechanical fasteners, and yeah it looks great for a week, then it fails. The fear is just common sense. Sometimes the right tool is a screw or a proper adhesive, not the stuff that dries clear and makes you feel safe.
