Why does nobody talk about the humidity in the Chicago Public Library's conservation lab?

I was there for a workshop last spring, and watching them handle 18th century paper in that controlled environment completely changed how I prep my own workspace now. Anyone else adjust their whole process after seeing how a pro archive does it?

Who cares about humidity when most people just need a clean desk to work?

My old office in Florida had 80% humidity, @rosek44. Mold grew on my keyboard (it was gross). A clean desk doesn't help when the air feels like soup.

My last gym in Tampa had the same problem with mold on equipment. Humidity ruins electronics and makes any surface feel dirty. A clean desk is pointless if the air itself is damp and gross.
