Why does nobody talk about how much glue dries out in winter?
I was working on a batch of five books last Monday in my basement shop here in Buffalo, and the PVA was getting chunky halfway through the first case. I thought my glue was bad, but my buddy who runs a bindery said it's just the dry air from the heater. He said to add a damp sponge to my glue pot setup, and it made a huge difference. Now I keep a little plastic tub of water nearby when I'm gluing in cold months. Has anyone else dealt with glue drying out on them like this during winter?

Tried putting a space heater too close to my glue pot once and ended up with a solid brick of PVA in ten minutes flat.
