The expensive Japanese bone folder I bought in Kyoto last spring was totally worth it

I figured it was just a fancy piece of plastic but after using it daily for 6 months it actually leaves smoother creases and doesn't scratch my paper, has anyone else found a tool that surprised them this way?

My $20 awl from a random craft fair has held up way better than the fancy ones.

Yeah but is it really that serious though... I mean an awl is pretty much just a pointy stick at the end of the day. You can spend $100 on one and it still does the same thing.
