The $60 bone folder that got chewed up by my dog, lesson learned

Paid 60 bucks for a proper cow bone folder from a shop in Portland, Maine, and left it on the coffee table for one night. My retriever mistook it for a chew toy and now it looks like a scalloped edge tool, not a smooth one. I've been using a plastic one since, and honestly it works fine for most creases. Anyone else have a favorite tool that got wrecked by a pet or a kid, and what did you replace it with?

Did you see that thread last month about the guy who lost his grandfather's awl to a puppy? Made me think dogs just have a sixth sense for the priciest tools. My cat once knocked my favorite bone folder off the shelf and it landed right on a ceramic tile, chipped the edge clean off. I ended up switching to a cheap wooden one from a craft store and honestly it creases just as good for my projects. That said, I still keep the damaged one on my desk as a paperweight, kind of a reminder to put things away. Did you keep the chewed one or toss it?
