Switched from a basic bone folder to a Teflon one and my paper creases are way cleaner

I was getting those annoying shiny marks on my cover stock for months. Picked up a basic Teflon folder from Talas in New York on a whim about six weeks ago. The difference is huge, no more burnishing or tearing on delicate papers. Anyone have a favorite brand for heavier book board scoring?

I mean, I've been using the back of a plastic spoon for scoring in a pinch. Works weirdly well on book board, idk.

Just be careful, plastic can leave a little burr sometimes.

Yeah, that plastic burr is a real thing... I just run my fingernail over the edge after scoring and it usually cleans it right up. It's a quick fix that saves the piece.

Wait, a plastic spoon? That's wild, but I guess it makes sense if you don't press too hard. I'm with @john_singh on being careful with plastic, but the Teflon ones seem to avoid that burr issue. It's just a smoother tool for the job.
