Spent 3 hours trying to fix a loose hinge on an antique Bible - turns out the screw just needed a tiny bit of glue

I was convinced the thread was stripped and kept trying to jam toothpicks in there, but a drop of PVA on a wooden matchstick did it in 30 seconds. Has anyone else wasted a whole afternoon on something that simple?

i mean, wait - you know this person probably wrote notes in the margins and underlined verses for years, right? my grandmother had a bible that was falling apart and held together with tape, and i'd be devastated if something happened to it. i feel like some stuff just can't be replaced, you know?
