Pro tip: check your PVA glue batch number before you use it

I found out from a distributor email that a big batch of PVA from a major supplier had a bad pH balance that makes the adhesive fail after a few months. I checked my last 5 gallon bucket, and sure enough, the number matched the recall list. If you bought adhesive in the last 60 days, look up the lot code on the side of the container. Has anyone else had a whole batch of books fall apart months later? That's my biggest nightmare right now.

I see where you're coming from with the lot number warning, but honestly I think the batch failure thing is way rarer than it sounds. PVA glue is pretty basic stuff, and most suppliers test it enough that a bad batch getting out is more of a one-off than a widespread issue. Unless you've seen it happen with your own books, checking every bucket you own feels like a lot of worry for something that probably won't hit you.
