Old timer in Denver taught me to wet my backing paper before gluing.

Guy named Pete at a bindery workshop last spring. He showed me how a damp sheet stretches flat with zero bubbles. Anyone else try this?

Pete proved me wrong in Denver last spring. That trick actually works.

Bought an old bookpress off craigslist last summer and the guy threw in a stack of handmade papers from the 80s. They were all crinkled and wavy but I remembered that damp trick from a youtube video. Soaked em quick with a spray bottle and pressed overnight. Came out flat as a board. Still use that press for everything now even though its ugly as sin.
