Just realized the hairspray trick for marbled endpapers actually holds up
I always figured the old trick of misting endpapers with cheap hairspray before marbling was nonsense, mostly because a binder in Toledo swore by it and he also swore his 1987 Chevy was a good truck. Then I tried it on a batch last month with Aqua Net, 2 light coats, and the colors stopped bleeding into each other on 6 of 7 sheets, which is way better than my usual mess. So now I'm stuck arguing both sides: is this a real trick or did I just get lucky with this one batch? Curious if anyone has tested it side by side on carrageenan vs methocel size, because I don't trust my one trial.
