I stopped paring leather in one pass and started doing it in three, and my covers got way better
I used to hold the paring knife at one angle and drag it straight through in a single pass, and my covers always had thin spots and lumps under the cloth. A bindery guy in Portland told me last spring to take three light passes from different angles instead, and now my leather sits flat with no bumps. Anyone else change how they pare, or am I the last one still learning this the slow way?
