I glue up in a cold garage in Duluth and it finally bit me last Tuesday
Three months ago I moved my whole setup into the unheated garage to make room for a guest bed, figuring a space heater would cover it. Last Tuesday it hit 41 degrees in there and I cracked two signatures on a Coptic stitch book I was making for a friend's wedding, right at the fold, because the PVA went tacky before I could work it in. I ran the heater for an hour first and it still didn't help, the glue skins over on the brush before it ever touches the spine. So now I'm gluing in the laundry room on a folding table and my wife is thrilled about it. Does anyone here actually get good results gluing under 60 degrees, or do you just plan your bindings around the seasons?
