Can we talk about wasting $40 on a bookbinding press that was basically a clamp from a hardware store?

I bought a 'professional' bookbinding press online for $40 and it turned out to be the same $8 C-clamp from Home Depot with a piece of plywood glued on, so has anyone else fallen for overpriced starter kits that just repackage common tools?

Got that same exact clamp from Harbor Freight for $6.

Oh wow @burns.fiona, I always thought those cheap clamps were garbage but you just changed my mind on that.
