Warning: my book club spent 40 minutes fighting about the ending of Gone Girl and forgot the actual book
We met at Rosa's diner in Austin on Tuesday and somehow the talk slid from the last chapter straight into who was the worst person in the whole story, and nobody brought up the writing once. I get that a good fight is fun, but I joined this group to talk about books, not to relitigate a movie we all saw in 2014. How do you all pull a meeting back to the actual pages without killing the mood?
