Spent 45 minutes trying to find the debate schedule for our book club's next meeting
I figured our group chat would have the date for the next debate on 'Fahrenheit 451' versus '1984', but after scrolling through 3 months of messages I still couldn't find it. Finally realized we'd never actually set a firm date because everyone kept changing their mind about which book to pick. How do you all handle scheduling your club debates without it turning into a week long back and forth?

Just use a doodle poll in your group chat. Everyone picks their top 2 dates and the book at the same time, then it's settled in like a day max instead of dragging on for weeks.

The problem with doodle polls is they just reinforce the same people who always speak up first... I was in a group where three loud members picked Tuesday in the first hour and everyone else just caved instead of pushing back for a Thursday that actually worked better for half the group. People treat the first few responses as the defaults and then you end up with a date that barely half the group can actually make.

Classic, I'm usually one of those first responders just to get it over with and then regret it later.
