Our club picked a 700 page book and only 3 of us made it past page 200
Last Tuesday our book club met at Dana's place in Portland to talk about this giant history book, and it turned into a group therapy session about who actually finished it. Two people admitted they listened to the audiobook at 3x speed just to say they read it, and one guy brought printed chapter summaries like we were back in school. We ended up talking more about why we pick long books to look smart than about the actual book, which was honestly the best talk we've had in weeks. So now I'm curious, does your club have a page limit or do you just suffer through whatever gets picked?
