TIL spending $150 on a fancy welding hood didn't make my beads any prettier lol
Bought a top of the line auto-darkening helmet last summer thinking it would level up my work but my weld quality stayed the same as my old $50 fixed shade, so anyone else overpaid for gear that didn't actually help?

Felt that. Dropped $200 on a Miller hood and my welds still look like bird poop sometimes.

I dropped $300 on a high-end helmet that had all these fancy features like grinding mode and a bigger viewing window. My welds honestly look the same as when I was using a cheap harbor freight special. It's like dressing up for the gym in expensive gear but still getting winded after five minutes on the treadmill lol. We all fall for that trap where we think spending money is the shortcut instead of just putting in the practice time. I see it with people buying top-of-the-line golf clubs or kitchen knives thinking the tool does the work for them. At the end of the day your hands and experience matter way more than the price tag on your equipment.
