One boss's inspection checklist flipped how I weld tube sheets

Three weeks ago a superintendent handed me his personal punch list for a 40 inch tube sheet in Baton Rouge. His sheet had things like 'check root gap at 6 o'clock' and 'look for arc strikes on the claw marks'. I followed it on the next bundle and caught two joints I would've redone later, which saved me maybe 2 hours of grinding. Now I write my own version for every job, but I still keep his laminated copy in my lid. Anyone else got a checklist or habit from a foreman that stuck with you?
