TIL I was storing my board game boxes vertically for 5 years until a buddy pointed out how that makes the components shift and the box sag
After a game night last month I pulled out my copy of Agricola and the box was so misshapen the lid wouldn't fit right, so now I stack everything flat instead - has anyone else dealt with box warping from how you store them?

Take the opposite stance and say I've stored everything vertically for over a decade with zero issues. My copy of Twilight Imperium 4th edition has been upright on a shelf since I bought it and the box is still square, no sagging at all. I think people who get warping probably have humid basements or stack boxes too tightly where they push against each other. Vertical storage saves so much shelf space and I can see all the spines at once which matters more to me than some theoretical component shift that never actually happens.
